Hong Kong, China

Asia

As an administrative division of the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong is now (and has been since 97) a part of China, and not a British colony. However, Hong Kong still retains control of their own currency, legal system, foreign relations, and international sports teams until 2047, when this control reverts to the People’s Republic.

Nearly 7,000,000 people call Hong Kong home, with density of over 6,000 people per square kilometer, this is one packed city. While not as dense as New York City, the structure of Hong Kong makes it appear to be as packed as NYC.

Hong Kong has huge technology and Internet culture, with Internet cafe’s rampant, and everyone talking on their cell phone regardless of where they are. As with most Asian countries, both broadband technologies and cellular technologies are a good few years ahead of their North American counterparts.
